Okay, I've had None Shall Sleep and The Agathas both physically in my house since they came out and still haven't read them! What on earth! I neeeed to pick them up.
It's raining here too and our water table is so shallow that we are planning to install a backup sump pump on backup power because they can't bury the lines in the Canadian Shield, so rainstorms often comes with power outages... All of which is to say, good luck to both our basements!
After a night of ABSURD rain—the kind of rain that's so loud it wakes you up, apparently we got 3.5 inches?—only a little bit of water down there, not even enough to turn on the pump! Fingers crossed for the rest of the week, but I *think* the heaviest rain was last night, so we should be good. I hope you're coming through with minimal annoyance as well?
LOL, we're back to rain, too -- the temperature dropped twenty degrees and we have forty mph winds all of a sudden. I think we got stuck on April showers...
We don't have a basement, and the backyard is going to turn into a lake. Again. Heh. Good luck, all.
All day yesterday, the wild turkeys were around, in our backyard and in the woods behind the house, and they just looked so bedraggled and insulted. It's hard to look Fabulous when you're soaking wet. (I'm sure their egos will survive, hahaha.)
I've been getting caught up on my temperature afghan, and I'm hitting some days where we had, like 40 degree swings between the highs and the lows. Bananas. Also, I have to order some yarn to document the HAIL we got the other day??

Both totally different tones, so you've got options for totally different reading moods!! I hope you end up enjoying them as much as I have!

The pump has been running all night, which is noisy but better than the alternative!
