More! Queer! Edwardian! Fantasy! (and YES, romance!)
Good morning, friends,
I hope your week is going well. Mine is… well, I loved the previous book in this series so much that I blew through the whole thing the same day I told you about it, and now I’m about a third of the way through the sequel and am SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING calling in sick to work so I can keep reading???
Aunt Caroline made a face. Violet thought longingly of coffee. She was sick of having this conversation.
The door was rapped at again, and Clarence opened it before Violet could answer. He looked irritated and was holding his mother’s shawl.
“Clarence!” cried Violet, edging sideways on her chair to better display herself to the open doorway. “I’m not decent!”
Her cousin scowled and shut the door hastily behind him.

Friends, while I smiled delightedly throughout the entirety of the previous book in this series, I have been GUFFAWING throughout this one. Wonderful heroines: one on a Secret Mission, and one a scandalous-actress-turned-surprise-heiress! Edwardian banter! A murder on an ocean liner! A jewel thief! A crabby Baron! Magic, magic, magic—the world-building around the magic is particularly tip-top, btw—and an impending romance!
…apologies, it doesn’t come out until November. I’m so sorry, but MAKE SURE IT’S ON YOUR RADAR OMG OMG OMG MY EYES ARE SO GOOGLY
Talk soon,
Leila
Man, these COVERS. SO, so gorgeous!
Also, NOVEMBER!? ::le sigh::
