I *love* them, they make me want to slather everything in William Morris. What an absolute pleasure these have been.
And NOVEMBER, I knoooooowwwwwww. Even though I'm reading it right now, I'm already sad that it'll be over soon and then I'll REALLY have to start waiting for the third one. I'm starting to put together a list of books to read in the meantime, though, so hopefully that'll help.
I'm really starting to feel like I'm truly finding my reading groove again, it's been such a long time and it's such a relief to feel this kind of joy again. I wasn't sure if I'd ever find it again.
Have you read HITHER, PAGE, by Cat Sebastian or MURDER MOST ACTUAL, by Alexis Hall or IN THE WINTER WOODS by Isabelle Adler? These three are next on my Queer Mysteries Bingo card. I don't usually read with a theme in mind (being unlawful chaos in the reading field), but I read one mystery, and then the internet immediately suggested others, and I'm on a roll. I have had some periods of just gritting my teeth and starting and flinging books until I, too, am finally getting my groove back. It's a... process, I guess. More books, less doomscrolling.
Ooooh, I have NOT. I've read some Cat Sebastian, though, and have entirely enjoyed what I've read. I'll look them all up! I've been coming at it from another angle—more political historical fantasies than specifically romance—so with these additions, my list is about to get a whole spicier, heh. (Here for it!)
Yeah, for me, I think it was a combination of burnout—turns out that committee work on top of a regular freelance gig on top of running the library was too much? And then, obviously the general burning-down nature of everything and a Surprise Pandemic didn't help, woof. ANYWAY, I'm glad we're both getting back on track in our own ways. <3 <3 <3
Man, these COVERS. SO, so gorgeous!
Also, NOVEMBER!? ::le sigh::
